I've been seeing some awesome art journal pages pop up on Pinterest lately. It really called out to me. So after a week of Google-ing, YouTube-ing and Pinterest-ing art journaling here is my first attempt at art journaling.
Materials used:
Strathmore Art Journal kit
Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain in Picket Fence
Home Decor Show-Offs Peacock Feather stencil
Sharpies-blue, green, purple, red and gold
Scrap white paper
Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Faded Jeans
Pop-up glue dots
I laid out all my supplies.
I sprayed the front cover and then flipped the stencil over onto the back cover. I spritzed around the negative image of the feather on the back cover. I think I'll leave it as is for now.
I added some color to the feather with some sharpies. I really like that I can see the paint under the color.
with a scrap bit of paper I added a quote I thought would really apply to my first art journal. I distressed the edges just a bit.
