Smoothies for Weightloss

I love to make smoothies. There are so many different ways to make smoothies. They can be healthy or not. They are just awesome. A couple of weeks ago I downloaded a book called "31 Perfect Fitness Smoothies" by Arnel Ricafranca. I have tried a few of them and they are awesome. I have had to alter the recipes a little. Mostly because of what I can easily and cheaply find, but a little because of personal taste. So today I thought I would share the ones I tried and altered. If you want the original recipes please check out Amazon. The book was a free download.

Green Tea Heaven
1 scoop EAS vanilla soy protein powder
1 1/2 c cold water
1/2 c frozen blueberries
1 small frozen banana
1 green and white fusion tea bag (contains caffeine)
1 tsp honey
4-5 ice cubes

Brew tea for 3 minutes in 1 c. of water. Add the other 1/2 c. water, ice and honey to cool it down. Combine everything in a blender and blend until smooth. This recipe made 2 servings for me.

One thing I really like about the book is that it gives info on different ingredients.
*Green tea is a great source of polyphenols. It is a chemical that contains powerful antioxidants and fat burning properties.

Strawberry Tea Fusion
1 scoop EAS vanilla soy protein powder
1 1/2 c. skim milk
1 small frozen banana
1/2 c. frozen strawberries
1/2 TBS honey
1 green and white fusion tea bag
4-5 ice cubes

Brew tea for 3 minutes in 1 c. of water. Add the other 1/2 c. water, ice and honey to cook it down. Combine everything in a blender and blend until smooth. This recipe made 2 servings for me.

*Banana's nutrient content increases a little as the fruit ripens. This includes its antioxidant properties.

Peppermint Patty
1 scoop EAS chocolate soy protein powder
1 c. 1% chocolate milk
1/2 c. chobani vanilla chocolate chunk greek yogurt
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1/2 TBS unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder
1 tsp honey
4-5 ice cubes

Blend everything together until smooth.

*Peppermint extract might help to ease an upset stomach.
