An Experiement in trying to simplify my life

Happy New Year

It's a new year. I've made a few commitments to myself this year.
Last September I started running. Never thought I would. In fact I pretty much thought it was the dumbest thing anyone could want to do. Guess I'm one of the dumb ones now. :D In just the four short months that I have been running I have already run 4 5k's.

 I participated in the Runner's World 36 day Run Streak Challenge. 1 mile everyday. Some days I ran farther, some days I didn't run at all. Still put in 43 miles in 36 days.

So this year my commitment to myself is to keep running. I set a goal of 300 miles for the year. Should be pretty easy. That's only 25 miles a month. I also plan on running in 14 virtual races and so far I'm looking at 7 road races. I'll probably stick to 5k's for now. Not sure I'm ready for anything more. But I will be one day.

To help with this goal I have also decided to give up soda. I might die. We'll see how it goes.

My very last goal for this year is to participate in a photo-a-day challenge. Which hopefully means more blogging from me. Have a wonderful new year
